I recommend a visit to Tucson, designated as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy because of its traditional Sonoran Mexican and Indigenous foods (as well as the Bacanora). Also, New Mexico, which has a style of "Mexican" food that you will not anywhere else.
Love this! Reminds me of the Mortadella Focaccia sandwich recipe I adapted from L.A.-based Roman cuisine restaurant Mother Wolf for easy home cooking!
